Did you know that adding muscle to your body will improve your fat loss?

Strength training is most commonly the highest priority of training I recommend for my clients. The more muscle you have on your body, the more fat you’re going to burn naturally.

Too often, women are afraid to lift heavy weights because they think they will get big and bulky, but that’s not the case. It’s how you get lean, toned, and strong with definition in your muscles.

I always love it when a client tells me “…I’m starting to see some definition in my arms!” with a huge smile on their face (:

That is what my client, Mandi, mentioned to me about a month ago. And you know what we did prior to this change in her body?

We switched her exercise routine from more cardio-dominant to strength-dominant, which can also help shift hormones.

Don’t be afraid to lift weight and gain pounds on the scale. It does not always mean you’re heading in the wrong direction.

For example, look at my most recent Inbody scan from this weekend (photo above).

This shows that in the last 4 months I have gained 2.2 pounds of muscle, lost 1.1% body fat, and gained 3.5 pounds on the scale overall…I went from 150.6 to 154.1 pounds (:

Any time I am more on-point with my nutrition and doing my strength training regularly, I always gain weight on the scale, but lose body fat and gain muscle mass = Happy Me!

When I start slacking on my nutrition, eating less, and not strength training, I always lose weight on the scale, which is in the wrong direction for me because I am not fueling my body properly, I’m losing muscle mass, and I’m gaining body fat.

Muscle is denser than fat, which is why I prefer NOT to use scale weight as a gauge for change for me and most of my clients.

I know this may be blowing your mind right now if you haven’t heard this before, but it’s true!

If you feel like you’ve been running in circles trying to figure out what’s going to work for you to lose body fat, get toned, build muscle, and improve your strength, reply to this email and let’s chat.

You may be surprised to find that what you’re currently doing, or have been told to do for years now, is not heading you in the right direction. I can help you fix that!
