The truth about why diets don’t work is because they’re unsustainable.
If you’re required to cut out an entire food group, restrict calories, drink magic potions, or live off of soup, there’s a 100% chance you won’t last long.
The real problem with dieting is that an ALL or NONE approach isn’t a long-term approach.
When foods are “allowed” or “not allowed” and good or bad, you’re following an all or none plan which doesn’t work long-term.
With few exceptions such as resetting your body, those plans fail. Every. Single. Time.
Because…real life.
Sustainability is where the magic happens. Falling in love with healthy foods. Changing your habits slowly over time.
It’s not sexy, but it works.
I’ve been using this method for years!
Sure, there are moments I am more on-point than others such as in the past month in which I’ve been indulging more than usual in my sweets and beverages, but the important part is that I am okay with these occasional ups and downs (they are by choice) and I keep them fairly short.
Now that’s being realistic! I’m happy with myself and my body 🙂
